The legendary steeplechaser Red Rum, who was trained and owned by "Ginger McCain", won the Grand National at Aintree racecourse a record three times (1973, 1974 and #1977) capturing the heart of the nation and claiming an enduring place in British sporting records. The scrappy Red Rum did not seem destined for game and glory as a youngster and many initially overlooked him. He changed owners, trainers and jockeys many times. He was raced over the flat and over jumps an astonishing 110 times in 11 years, winning or being placed 75 times. Red Rum won the Grand National in 1973, 1974 and 1977 and was runner-up in 1975 and 1976- a record that may never be equalled. He died in 1995 at the age of 30 and is buried near the winning post at Aintree. | Other Details: Model: Red Rum Price: £22.95 (approx $33.28 / €24.79) Artist: K.
